They take a cross country road trip and there’s a lot that goes on along the way. Some may say this film is about a family who yells and fights with each other all the time but I believe in the bigger scheme of things, it’s about communication, working together, overcoming obstacles, and not caring what other people think about you.  A big scene in the movie was when the family stopped for lunch at a nearby restaurant. They were all deciding what they wanted to order and Olive mentions to her mom that she wants ice cream for lunch. Her dad then steps in and tells his opinion on the matter.
