Mentor Blogs

While creating my own blog, I thought it was important to research and find other blogs that I could get inspiration from. In this post I inserted pictures and brief descriptions of why they are good to scroll through and why I find them interesting. You should check them out!

This is the first blog. It's called Simply Recipes. It shows all different kinds of food that are cool to make.

Simply Recipes is a good mentor blog because it is very organized. I like how they chose a color scheme of Teal and Red, colors are important in blogs.
My family and I love to cook but we never know what food to make. I never realized there were blogs that show ideas for what to cook. That's why I love this blog. They have different tabs for what people look for which is very helpful. I'm already doing this with my blog which I like, it looks professional. Also for the different recipes this blog has pictures to represent what each one looks like. This is very important with cooking because you can never quite tell from the description how the food's going to turn out. This blog is very interesting and well run. I will always come back to it when I need some inspiration of what to cook.

This is another blog. It's called Scholastic Teachers. It is very helpful for teachers because it shows lesson plans, games, information about all age groups etc.

I've always loved working with kids so In college I'm planning on working towards becoming a Special Education teacher or an Early Education teacher. This blog just makes me even more excited to work with kids. Some of the activities I see on this blog I've done as a kid. Some I've actually orchestrated when I was a camp counselor. I like how this blog has all the tabs in a list with the activities, it's easy to navigate. The theme of this blog is cool as well, the red stripe for the heading of the tabs and then the rest of the intro screen blue. Since it's a teaching blog, when you click on a tab it has pictures showing the activity, and also the different age groups which I love. Scholastic teachers is a really good mentor blog and I will look back at it when I'm working on mine and when I'm a teacher in a couple years. :)

This is the third blog. It's called Metropolis. It's a shopping blog that shows different dog foods but it also has all this information about dogs like; grooming, walking, sleeping etc.

Metropolis is a good mentor blog because it's very organized. I like their color scheme of orange and blue and how they have tabs along the top and the side. In my blog I have a couple tabs along the top. Color schemes are very important in blogs as well as the font types. I love how they have the title in all caps in blue with the logo right next to it.  This blog looks very professional. When you click on anything related to food it brings you to an actual shopping website. I have a dog named Max and sometimes he can be very high maintenance so it's good to know that there is a blog I can scroll through to find information about dog care. This blog is very helpful to dog owners and it's easy to navigate. I like it and I'll be using it as an example and for reference.
